NewsJuly 23, 2009 PharmaVize establishes partnership with Xedev.Xedev (www.xedev.com) is a spin-out company of ProCepT, a Belgian manufacturer of small scale processing equipment. Xedev offers process screening and feasibility services using ProCepT’s technology for Agglomeration, Coating and Drying, such as spray drying, fluid bed, high shear granulation, extrusion, spheronisation, coating, vacuum and microwave drying.PharmaVize (www.pharmavize.com) is a GMP-compliant contract research company. The company offers formulation screening and development services and is producing pre-clinical and GMP clinical supply materials. By joining forces and offering an integrated service level, Xedev and PharmaVize aim at accelerating the development of early phase drug substances and drug products. “By combining the process know-how of Xedev and the formulation know-how of PharmaVize, we create valuable synergies”, says Lieven Van Vooren, CSO at PharmaVize. “Our team takes on early development challenges such as drug stability, solubility and bio-availability”. “We offer process screening and feasibility studies”, adds Filip Van der Gucht, Business Dev Director of Xedev. “We select the right process technology and then optimize the manufacturing process. Upon request of our customer, we can transfer the process to the GMP infrastructure of PharmaVize and produce clinical supply materials for early phase studies. Our integrated approach is shortening the product development time significantly”. |
